Kirk Lightner is a Member with the firm practicing in the litigation department.  He is originally from Huntington, West Virginia, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Journalism from Marshall University in 2000.  After two years in the workforce, Kirk moved to Michigan to pursue his legal education at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  He finished his course work in two and a half years and then returned to his native Huntington to complete his externship in the spring of 2005.

Mr. Lightner is licensed to practice law in the State of West Virginia focuses his practice in the area of insurance defense litigation.

Prior to joining Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, Kirk was employed over the past few years by Kesner, Kesner, & Bramble, PLLC, where he worked for many insurance companies representing the interests of their insureds.  Mr. Lightner has experience in representing defendants in auto accident cases, premises liability claims, deliberate intent claims, and slip, trip, and fall claims.  Mr. Lightner has also handled and resolved hundreds of infant claims and claims brought by estates for wrongful death.

While at Kesner, Kesner, & Bramble PLLC, Mr. Lightner was responsible for handling cases from the inception up through and including trial, if necessary.  Kirk was successful in negotiating settlements on behalf of his clients in many cases, but was willing and able to take a case to trial if settlement could not be accomplished.
Mr. Lightner will devote his entire practice to insurance defense litigation.

Kirk enjoys taking advantage of West Virginia’s wonderful outdoor activities when it is time to relax.  He has three addicting hobbies:  fly-fishing, skiing (snow), and golfing.

Mr. Lightner is a member of the WV State Bar, the Kanawha County Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court.  He is licensed to practice in all courts in West Virginia, as well as in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
