Anthony J. Delligatti has a diverse background litigating on both sides of the aisle. He has won jury trials both as civil defense and plaintiffs counsel, and has valuable behind the scenes experience clerking at both the trial court and appellate levels.

Anthony was born in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1984, and is a 2003 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. In addition to obtaining a JD in 2013 at the West Virginia University College of Law, he has earned a BA in Sociology (WVU – 2007), an MA in Criminal Justice (Temple – 2009), and an MA in Political Science (WVU – 2011).

While in law school, Anthony served as an associate editor on Volume 114 and as the Executive Development Editor of Volume 115 of the West Virginia Law Review. Anthony’s student note A Horse of a Different Color: Distinguishing the .Judiciary from the Political Branches in Campaign Financing was published in the West Virginia Law Review (115 W.Va. L. Rev. 401) in 2012, and cited by the Supreme Court of Appeals in State ex rel. Loughry v. Tennant, 229 W.Va. 630 (W.Va. 2012). While in law school, Anthony clerked for the Honorable Thomas E. McHugh at the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, and the Skinner Law Firm.

Upon graduation from law school, Anthony represented plaintiffs at the Skinner Law Firm in Charles Town, WV, including a successful personal injury jury trial. He then spent almost two years clerking for the Honorable Michael D. Lorensen in West Virginia’s 23rd Judicial Circuit. Prior to joining this firm, Anthony had his own firm where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil matters, but also represented defendants in criminal and juvenile matters. While practicing solo, Anthony obtained a defense verdict in a personal injury jury trial against a dog owner.

Anthony currently represents businesses, government entities, and individuals in a variety of civil litigation. In addition to practicing law, Anthony is an adjunct professor of political science at Shepherd University where he teaches American Federal Government. He lives in Martinsburg with his wife Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Delligatti, and their daughter Isabel Ann.
